This page describes exactly what Qutira collects, where it goes, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers this website only.
Who we are
Qutira is a digital studio operating from the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. For anything on this page, including a request to access or delete your information, write to hello@qutira.com or call +1 (289) 923-3966.
What we collect, and only when you send it
This website collects personal information in two places, and both need you to act first: the contact form, and the chat assistant described further down. Nothing is collected from you just by reading a page.
When you submit the form we receive:
- What you type: your name, email address, and message, plus, where the form offers them, your phone number, company, project type, budget range, and timeline.
- Technical context sent with it: the page you submitted from, the time of submission, and how long the form was open. The last of these is an anti-spam signal: automated submissions arrive faster than a person can type.
The form also contains a hidden field that people never see and automated submitters usually fill. If it arrives filled, we discard the submission.
Why we use it
To read your enquiry and reply to it, and to keep an ordinary business record of who contacted us and about what. That is all. We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.
Where it goes
Your submission is sent to our own automation server, which runs on infrastructure we rent in Germany, and is checked there before it reaches anyone. It is then emailed to our studio inbox, which is hosted by Google Workspace. A copy of the submission also remains in our automation server's own run history.
That means your information is processed in Canada, Germany, and wherever Google Workspace stores our mail. If you are writing from outside those places, submitting the form means your information travels to them.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for as long as we may reasonably need them, while we are talking with you, and afterwards as a record of the enquiry. If you ask us to delete your information, we will delete it from both our inbox and our automation server's run history, and tell you when it is done.
The chat assistant
The chat button in the corner opens an assistant that runs on our own chat platform at chatbot.qutira.com, the same platform we build for clients. Nothing is sent until you open it. Once you do, the messages you type, and any service, budget, or timeline you pick from the buttons, go to that platform so it can answer you and so we can follow up on a real enquiry. If you give your name, email, or phone number in the chat, we treat it exactly like a contact form submission: we use it to reply, we keep it as a record of the enquiry for as long as we may reasonably need it, and you can ask us to delete it.
Before your first message, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person and not an automated script. That check is the one piece of third-party code on this site, and it loads only when you open the chat. It comes from Cloudflare, which sees your IP address and some details of your browser in order to make that decision; it does not see what you type. The chat keeps nothing in your browser's storage.
Cookies, analytics, and tracking
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. There is no tracking pixel and no advertising tag. The only third-party script is the Cloudflare Turnstile check described above, and it loads only when you open the chat. The site's content security policy does not permit any other.
Your browser does store four small values on this site, and none of them identifies you: one records that you have already seen the opening animation so it does not replay, one records that a section's sound has already been introduced, one records whether you switched sound on, and one records which item you left a listing from so the Back button returns you to it. All four are cleared when you close the tab.
Other services your browser contacts
Every image, video, font and 3D model on this site is served from our own domain, so reading a page sends your browser to no other service. Opening the chat adds exactly one: Cloudflare, for the Turnstile check described above.
Keeping it safe
The site is served over HTTPS only. The contact form is validated again on our server, not just in your browser, and the connection to our automation server is encrypted. Access to the inbox and to the automation server is limited to the people who need it.
No system is perfect. If you believe you have found a security problem with this website, we would rather hear about it than not. Please write to hello@qutira.com, or see our security.txt.
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- tell you what information about you we hold;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it;
- send you a copy of it.
Write to hello@qutira.com and we will answer. If you are in Canada and you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you are in the EU or the UK, you can complain to your national data protection authority.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us their information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect or where it goes changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top changes too.
