This page describes exactly what Qutira collects, where it goes, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers this website only.
Who we are
Qutira is a digital studio operating from the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. For anything on this page, including a request to access or delete your information, write to hello@qutira.com or call +1 (289) 923-3966.
What we collect, and only when you send it
The only way this website collects personal information is the contact form. Nothing is collected from you just by reading a page.
When you submit the form we receive:
- What you type: your name, email address, and message, plus, where the form offers them, your phone number, company, project type, budget range, and timeline.
- Technical context sent with it: the page you submitted from, the time of submission, and how long the form was open. The last of these is an anti-spam signal: automated submissions arrive faster than a person can type.
The form also contains a hidden field that people never see and automated submitters usually fill. If it arrives filled, we discard the submission.
Why we use it
To read your enquiry and reply to it, and to keep an ordinary business record of who contacted us and about what. That is all. We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.
Where it goes
Your submission is sent to our own automation server, which runs on infrastructure we rent in Germany, and is checked there before it reaches anyone. It is then emailed to our studio inbox, which is hosted by Google Workspace. A copy of the submission also remains in our automation server's own run history.
That means your information is processed in Canada, Germany, and wherever Google Workspace stores our mail. If you are writing from outside those places, submitting the form means your information travels to them.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for as long as we may reasonably need them, while we are talking with you, and afterwards as a record of the enquiry. If you ask us to delete your information, we will delete it from both our inbox and our automation server's run history, and tell you when it is done.
Cookies, analytics, and tracking
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. There is no tracking pixel, no advertising tag, and no third-party script of any kind. The site's content security policy does not permit one.
Your browser does store four small values on this site, and none of them identifies you: one records that you have already seen the opening animation so it does not replay, one records that a section's sound has already been introduced, one records whether you switched sound on, and one records which item you left a listing from so the Back button returns you to it. All four are cleared when you close the tab.
Other services your browser contacts
Some images on this site are currently served from Unsplash, and the client logos on our About page are fetched from Google's icon service. Loading a page that uses them means your browser makes a request to those services, which lets them see your IP address and which page you were on, the same as any image hosted elsewhere on the web. We send them nothing else about you, and both are placeholders that will be replaced with our own media.
Keeping it safe
The site is served over HTTPS only. The contact form is validated again on our server, not just in your browser, and the connection to our automation server is encrypted. Access to the inbox and to the automation server is limited to the people who need it.
No system is perfect. If you believe you have found a security problem with this website, we would rather hear about it than not. Please write to hello@qutira.com, or see our security.txt.
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- tell you what information about you we hold;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it;
- send you a copy of it.
Write to hello@qutira.com and we will answer. If you are in Canada and you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you are in the EU or the UK, you can complain to your national data protection authority.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us their information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect or where it goes changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top changes too.
